Store Manager (Rye)

This role will be based in our NEW location. You will be required to assist with the set up and be responsible for the day to day running of the store. The successful candidate must be willing and driven and also have great customer service skills.

Main roles & responsibilities:

  • Staff rota management
  • Including working weekends
  • Communication with staff to extend product knowledge
  • Driving customer service through team engagement
  • Reporting to General Manager
  • Independent working
  • Using initiative
  • Training new staff to a high standard
  • Leading your team to ensure consistent performance
  • Maximising your store’s sales potential and profitability, driving the KPIs

During your role you may be required to work at other shop locations and cover holidays. Experience in managerial role and retail work preferred.

Salary: £19,000-£20,000 per year

 

 Part-time Shop Assistant & Back End E-commerce 

This role will mainly be based at our Ashford shop/office location. You will be required to work in store, customer facing and helping assist with back office of our online store. You may be required to work from our warehouse location so driving licence crucial.

  • Restocking shop floor
  • Including weekends
  • General Admin
  • Wrapping and packing online orders
  • Epos stock management
  • Website management
  • Customer service
  • Order processing
  • Opening and closing store
  • Communicating with staff and staff at additional locations
  • Cashing up
  • Reporting to general manager

During your role you may be required to work at other shop locations and cover holidays. There is scope with this position to extend to a full-time role.

Similar role experience preferred.

Marketing Manager

Here at The Snug and Laughland Jones we are looking for someone who is passionate in their field and enjoys everyday never being the same, as is the nature with a marketing role! We are looking for a flexible and versatile marketing manager to join our team to drive forward our customer experience and sales channels.

Responsibilities will vary from implementing marketing campaigns, graphic design, analysing marketing data to track success, and ensuring all materials put across to our audience match our brand image and customers’ ideals. To get the most out of this role you should be hands-on, eager to try new things, and turn creative ideas into effective and impactful campaigns!

Responsibilities (The Snug):

  • Develop and implement marketing strategy and tactics to drive traffic to our brick-and-mortar stores and focusing on our new online store
  • Creating unique copy and image content for Facebook and Instagram social media channels, this includes graphic design and being able to adapt to the brand tone of voice
  • Lead creative marketing campaigns and PR stunts from idea to execution
  • Maintaining and editing the Shopify website, you must have a good knowledge and understanding of Shopify design and additional apps to elevate the customer experience
  • Product management, this role includes product photography for stock images and styled images for social media so photography experience is encouraged
  • To enjoy this role, you must have a passion for writing as copywriting is a large portion of the role, this varies from social captions, product descriptions, blog posts and SEO content
  • Plan and execute press events such as new store launches, this will be done alongside the Retail and Operations Manager
  • Google ads experience is preferable as to date we do not use an external PPC agency
  • Established relationships with local news outlets would assist you in this role as public relations are important for obtaining maximum exposure for The Snug as a new brand
  • Reporting for KPI’s in crucial to this role’s success so you must be comfortable with research and analytics as well as Excel
  • Prepare and alter the marketing budget on a quarterly basis alongside the Finance Manager
  • Implement email and direct marketing to target customers and ensure brand loyalty – as well as offering exclusive discounts for email subscribers

Responsibilities (Laughland Jones):

    • Dedicating half a day, two days a week to LJ
    • Social media content creation - copy only
    • Mailchimp experience, writing and designing newsletter emails for our subscribers on a monthly basis
    • Website design and maintenance preferable, surface level design for www.laughlandjones.co.uk
    • Promotional video content execution alongside videographers
    • Project photography organisation, planning shoots around deadlines and clients, this also gives you the opportunity to work on the shoots assisting as a stylist and expressing your creative streak
    • Working to and adjusting a marketing strategy and outlining quarterly budgets
    • Press contacts to be maintained and created to garner exposure for the brand
    • Copy content for the professional website, expanding the portfolio as projects are completed and require adding to the site

    Skills & Experience:

    • Marketing Degree – 2:1 and above preferable
    • Experience organising photoshoots and videography projects – including fun and creative ideas to show off The Snug’s personality
    • Demonstrate large scale marketing experience as well as an interest to learn and grow your skills
    • 1+ years copywriting with additional experience in SEO optimisation
    • eCommerce design and management experience, preferably in Shopify
    • Knowledge of website analytics tools (Google, Omniture etc.)
    • We like to have fun and enjoy our time at The Snug so we’re looking for someone who will fit into the team and has a passion for homewares and art!
    • 5+ years digital marketing as a professional graduate
    • A sense and understanding of aesthetics, trends and design and a love for communication and engaging and witty copy
    • 3+ years PR, establishing and maintaining relationships with news outlets and journalists – local and nationwide
